School Uniforms are Mandatory

CLOTHING

REQUIREMENTS

SHIRTS

SOLID RED, SOLID GREY, SOLID WHITE AND SOLID BLACK  POLO SHIRTS ONLY

  • Must extend beyond the waist
  • Only the southridge logo is acceptable and it is optional
  • Senior jerseys are only acceptable on Fridays

UNDERSHIRTS

SOLID RED, SOLID GREY, SOLID WHITE OR SOLID BLACK ONLY

  • Cannot exceed the length of the polo shirt
  • Can only be worn under the polo shirt

OUTERWEAR

SOLID RED, SOLID GREY AND SOLID BLACK ONLY

  • Uniform shirt must be worn.

PANTS

SOLID BLACK, SOLID KHAKI AND SOLID BLUE DENIM LONG PANTS

  • May not have patches or holes
  • NO shorts, sweatpants, tights or leggings

SHOES

 Shoes must have backs

STUDENT ID

 Must be worn around the neck at all times

 

The following items MAY NOT BE WORN:

  • shorts, sweatpants, tights, skirts or leggings.
  • t-shirts of any kind (you may NOT wear Southridge t-shirts)
  • sagging pants.  Pants must be worn at their original length and fitted at the waist with no visible undergarments.
  • strapless shoes, flip flop type shoes, and make-shift/temporary straps.
  • hats or hoods may be worn in any building or classroom. headwear of any kind: headbands, mesh head coverings, bandanas, handkerchiefs, do-rags, hair curlers, combs, and hair picks. These items MAY NOT be brought to school.  Boys are not permitted to wear multi-colored rubber bands, beads or barrettes in their hair to accentuate dreads.
  • sleep wear, bedroom shoes, pajamas, or slippers. dog collars, motorcycle chains, two or three finger rings, or spikes. colors, symbols, national pendants or items associated with gangs (this includes bandanas and flags made with beads).
  • trench coats.   
  • sunglasses may be worn in the building.

 

DRESS CODE POLICY ENFORCEMENT

Students WILL NOT be given the opportunity to correct a uniform violation.

If a student is not in the appropriate dress, they will be sent to the activities office and will be issued Indoor Suspension for the day.

If a student is sent down during the last block of the day, they will be issued Indoor Suspension for the remainder of the day and the following day.
